Room 27 Mixed Media Pop Art

Room 27 have been creating mixed media art this term. We looked at different types of Pop Art- the practice of using digital photographs and working with contrasting colours. These look very cool and brighten up our classroom.

Check out our bright display! Miss Johnson printed four photos of the same size and we had to selected contrasting colours to make these pictures "POP".

James worked very hard to make his pictures stand out, he used a mixture of hot and cold colours!

Robots have taken over room 28!

This term, we are learning all about being solution seekers.  Solution seekers generate ideas and use their initiative to solve problems. One of our homework tasks in room 28 was to reuse things around the house that are not needed any more.  Pollution and rubbish is a huge problem in the world today, but the clever children and their families reused their household rubbish to make awesome robot friends! Check them out :D

This is Jonathan's robot and his name is Jake.  Jonathan's robot is a very clever design because it has a trolley attached to make it easy to move around.  Well done Jonathan!

Group roles

Kia orana

Room 23 have been working hard at learning to take a role when working in a group, and to participate responsibly.  Here are some pictures of our class working together to generate ideas using lego. Everyone had to discuss and agree on what we would use the legos for before we made anything.  The photographer took pictures of each completed idea.  The recorder wrote what the idea was before we made it.  The summarizer had to explain to everyone how we made our decisions, and what we ended up with.  The connector had to work really hard to keep everyone on task, and make sure no one was left out.
